JJ had a great season playing on the White Sox in Danville/Boyle County, Kentucky. He made it on the 10 year old all star team, and guess what!! They won districts and went on to State!
So I've had some good revelations this week....one of them is that no matter what job God has for me this fall, it's gonna be a good one and exactly what I should be doing. For now, I am a proud and grateful mother....
So at the time of this posting its safe to say we are all tired....
The 95 degrees heat lately has us all a little bit "sideways!"
Really, we are all missing the west coast terribly... we miss our friends, we miss Madrona, we MIGHT even be missing that misty rain that never goes away in Seattle.... out here we have thunderstorms that blaze through in a fury. But! At least we have swimmable waterfalls at our camp! Can't exactly do that at Snoqualmie or Multnomah!! sigh......
Oh.... the waiting, and the limbo. For all of you who keep asking "so when are you coming back?" or "Do you know where you're going next?" to you we answer, welcome to our angst. We don't know, we are waiting, we are praying. (do join us!) Meanwhile, Cheryl had an interview in LA last weekend and had the momentary bliss of flying "home." It was great to see my family, the kitties, even drive the mini-van....(yes! we are getting sick of the five of us in the Honda!) I got to catch up with Wapshaw and spend an awesome day with my bro and his fam. The only time I whipped out the camera was at the beach... a cold June gloom evening, which was quite refreshing after this Kentucky heat.
Aren't we getting big and CUTE??!!!
P.S. The interview was quite the enjoyable experience, and I hope they take the risk in hiring a nut like me. If not, we might have to just come back to LA anyway! Ultimately we know God is in control, and there's no sense in doubting Him now!! Hugs
For Memorial Day weekend we met the Michigan Caverson crew at a convenient half way point, in Hocking Hills State Park, Ohio. We were blessed with amazing scenery and an awesome time with our friends!!
We got to hike around Old Man's Cave, Cedar Falls, and a few other waterfalls that kept calling our names. We also learned about sandstone caves... they are different than limestone caves (with stalagmites), in that the water carves out the middle soft layer and leaves the upper and lower layers of rock.
They sure make for good climbing ground!
We also loved trucking the dogs along in this adventure...
Especially when we found those beckoning waterfalls!!
We couldn't have planned this weekend out better if we tried....
AKA "Winnie", our happy Winnebago home! She still sits out front as guest quarters. Come and visit!
Shenandoah, 2009
Our goals are changing to see every national park in America. So much to learn, and the rangers are amazing!
New York, 2008
We would love to also see every baseball stadium in America. Here we are catching the Mariners play the Mets, when Felix Hernandex hit his grand slam homerun.
Mt. Rushmore, 2007
The first time we drove across the country we drove our van. We made it to DC in 5 days but still got to see plenty of sights.
