Hocking Hills, OH
For Memorial Day weekend we met the Michigan Caverson crew at a convenient half way point, in Hocking Hills State Park, Ohio. We were blessed with amazing scenery and an awesome time with our friends!!
We got to hike around Old Man's Cave, Cedar Falls, and a few other waterfalls that kept calling our names. We also learned about sandstone caves... they are different than limestone caves (with stalagmites), in that the water carves out the middle soft layer and leaves the upper and lower layers of rock.
They sure make for good climbing ground!
We also loved trucking the dogs along in this adventure...
Especially when we found those beckoning waterfalls!!
We couldn't have planned this weekend out better if we tried....
Oh my goodness, do we LOVE Hocking Hills! Everytime we go home to Ohio to visit we want to spend some time there but we've yet to fit it in.:(
I recognized the Devil's Bathtub in one of those pictures- terrible name, but it is a neat feature. If you're still in the area, we really enjoyed hiking at Conkle's Hollow and a short hike to Rock House. Rock House was amazing.
Looks like you had an amazing time and how wonderful that you were able to fellowship with dear friends. Blessings!:)
AKA "Winnie", our happy Winnebago home! She still sits out front as guest quarters. Come and visit!
Shenandoah, 2009
Our goals are changing to see every national park in America. So much to learn, and the rangers are amazing!
New York, 2008
We would love to also see every baseball stadium in America. Here we are catching the Mariners play the Mets, when Felix Hernandex hit his grand slam homerun.
Mt. Rushmore, 2007
The first time we drove across the country we drove our van. We made it to DC in 5 days but still got to see plenty of sights.
